Merlin G. Pope, Jr. Award recognizing Outstanding Leadership and the accomplishment of Meaningful Change in the Community presented to Rosemary Goudreau
In conjunction with the Greater Cincinnati Human Resources Association (GCHRA) and Pope and Associates, Inc. Rosemary Goudreau is named the first recipient of the Merlin G. Pope, Jr. Award for Outstanding Leadership and the Accomplishment of Meaningful Change in the Community. This award recognizes an individual who possesses the character, integrity, and dedication to provide leadership for our diverse community. This first annual award was presented at the Fifth Annual Greater Cincinnati Human Resources Association Leadership Conference entitled .The Diversity of Diversity, Putting the Pieces Together. held at the Paul Brown Stadium on Wednesday, May 21, 2003.
Rosemary Goudreau, managing editor of The Cincinnati Enquirer since June of 1998, has established herself as a notable investigative reporter. However, her dedication is not limited to just investigative reporting as she has committed herself and has earned a reputation within the industry for her promotion and management of diversity. Last year she headed the Enquirer initiative on race relations entitled Neighbor to Neighbor. The article that has been cited in journalism circles for illustrating how newspapers can play a pivotal role in building bridges among citizens within a community. Her dedication, her character, and her drive to enhance the community via use of her profession marks Rosemary Goudreau as a leader in diversity, committed to bringing all people together.
